Welcome, visitor
The web project under scrutiny is dedicated to the reflection
of the American Dream in the novel "The Great Gatsby"
by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and the author's contemplations
about the concept of the American Dream, its vitality and the
prospects of those who stick to that very idea.
The thing is people are bent on constantly pushing forward
regardless of the lives of the others; tracking down sheer material
values which seem precarious to an ordinary bloke; ardently
toiling in the name of raking in the loot; trouncing the others.
That is the gist of the American Dream and it is not an oversimplification.
In his novel Fitzgerald looks into the society ridden by this
perpetual turmoil and vanity and where it can lead the people
constituting such a society. Does it have future? Is it compatible
with genuine human relations and genuine life?
